Q: I own a company. For my personal Individual Tax Return, which plan do I choose?

If you own a company, you can still choose the Basic individual Tax Return, assuming that you do not have any business operating under your personal ABN. If, however, you do have a business operating under your ABN, you will need to choose the Individual Tax Return with Small Business option. What’s the difference between the Company Tax Return packages?

For Company Tax Returns, we have four tax service packages:

Taxopia Online Lite ($180 + GST) – A complete self-service option. You enter all the information online and post the lodgement yourself. Once done, we will email you the completed Tax Return and provide you with the instructions on what to do (you will need access to a printer) and where to post it.
Note: This option is only for standard “Pty Ltd” companies.
Basic Tax Reporting ($400 + GST) – Our accountant prepares and lodges your returns for you. This option allows for bookkeeper software access.
Standard Tax Reporting ($800 + GST) – As above but with complete financial reports (for bank use) and provides greater support.
Premium Tax Reporting ($1,200 + GST) – For bigger companies with a turnover of $1M or above per year and provides a dedicated Accountant & Partner Support.

The Basic, Standard and Premium packages are for companies, trusts, and partnerships.

How are Taxopia company tax returns and trust tax returns completed so cheaply?

At Taxopia we spend a lot of time innovating and improving staff skills, workflow process and systems. We exclusively use paperless systems for workpapers and other documents. All client documents are signed with the highly secure electronic signing system “Docusign”. This is great for the environment but it’s especially good for our clients because (a) it saves them time and (b) every time we find a faster way of doing something we revisit our pricing to see if we can make things cheaper for our clients. We want to deliver the cheapest professional business accounting and tax solutions in Australia. That’s our goal.

The Taxopia website mentions "cheap company tax returns" and "cheap trust tax returns". Does that mean they are low quality?

Well to be completely honest we don’t like using the word “cheap” either but the reality is that many of our clients find us via the internet and some of them use those words “cheap tax return” in their search. There is no denying that our prices are very low for the solutions we provide. However, at Taxopia we don’t cut any corners with the professionalism and quality of our business accounting and tax advice. We want to build long term relationships and to do that we always aim for 100% client satisfaction. All returns are completed by experienced and qualified Accountants to ensure you receive the best tax outcome.

Can I have a face to face meeting with a Taxopia accountant?

Our standard services are based on an efficient process that does not include face to face meetings. However, we can organise meetings at our office for an additional fee.

Is it hard to change accountants?

At Taxopia we understand that people take their business accounting and tax affairs pretty seriously. It doesn’t matter if you have a new business or an established business, making the decision to engage a new accountant can be confusing and intimidating. In our view accounting firms do not typically make this process clear and easy. You could even be forgiven for thinking that accountants want you to feel that its difficult to go elsewhere. Well we can tell you that changing accountants is generally a very simple process. Accountants are also required to transfer information to each other under professional standards so rest assured your historical information will be fully available to your new accountant.
